Top 5 Mega Development Projects in India

The government has been initiating new development projects in India that are helping in the urbanization of the country and offering strong economic growth. Following is the list of projects that are all set to convert the infrastructure of India

1. International Airport in Navi Mumbai

The ongoing project of the airport in Navi Mumbai is estimated to be completed by March 2025. The airport is designed to handle around 60 million passengers by 2032.

2. Delhi-Mumbai Expressway

This project is introducing the longest route in India connecting two major cities. With the help of this expressway, people can reach their destination in just 12 hours while it used to take at least 24 hours.

3. Dedicated Freight Corridors

Dedicated Freight Corridors are railway lines that are made for trains that carry goods. There is a total of six sections in it to make freight trains faster. The completion of this project is estimated to be by the end of 2024.

4. Dholera Smart City

The Government introduced a greenfield initiative in Gujrat. Dholera is a sustainable city and by 2024 around 30% of the development has been done.

5. Bengaluru-Chennai Expressway

This expressway is aimed to accommodate speeds of up to 120 kmph. The structure of the process is divided into 10 phases, the nine phases are expected to be complete by 2024.
