Calculate VAT
How to use this Saudi VAT calculator
Choose your calculation mode
Use Add VAT when you have a price before tax and need the final billable amount. Use Remove VAT when you have a VAT-inclusive figure — such as a total on a supplier invoice — and need to know the underlying cost. Use Multi-Item Invoice when preparing a quotation with several materials or services that need one combined VAT total.
Enter the amount in Saudi Riyals
Type the figure into the field — the calculator assumes Saudi Riyals (SAR) throughout. For a single amount, enter it directly. For a multi-item invoice, add a description and amount for each line; the calculator keeps a running subtotal as you go, so you can see the total build up in real time.
Select the correct VAT rate
Most construction goods and services in Saudi Arabia fall under the 15% standard rate. Select 0% zero-rated / exempt only for specific categories such as qualifying exports outside the GCC, or supplies that ZATCA has explicitly classified as zero-rated or exempt — check your specific transaction against ZATCA guidance if you are unsure.
Read the results breakdown
The results panel shows the amount excluding VAT, the VAT amount itself, and the total including VAT — every figure a Saudi tax invoice is required to display separately. The highlighted row is the figure you were solving for: the total when adding VAT, or the base amount when removing it.
Carry the figures onto your invoice or quotation
A ZATCA-compliant tax invoice must show the amount before VAT, the VAT rate applied, the VAT amount, and the total separately — not just a single combined figure. Use the three results together when drafting your invoice or client quotation, rather than quoting the total alone.
| Category | Note |
|---|---|
| Exports | Goods shipped outside GCC territory |
| Int'l transport | Qualifying international freight & passenger transport |
| Financial services | Certain margin-based financial services |
| Residential lease | Exempt in most cases, not zero-rated |
