It is an independent power producer project which is expected to produce five gigawatts by 2030. This project will have world’s largest solar tower with the height of 260 meters and it will also become world’s largest thermal energy storage plant.
4. Al Dhafra solar photovoltaic (PV) independent power producer (IPP)
This project is the world’s largest single-site power plant with the capacity of two gigawatts. It is not yet operational. Four million solar panels will be generating electricity that will be reached to approx. 160000 homes in the UAE. The CO2 emission will be reduced by 2.4 million metric tons annually once it is operational.
5. Queen Alia International Airport
Queen Alia International Airport is the first carbon-neutral airport in the UAE which reduced power consumption and saved $1.5 million. It was a success during 2014 to 2017 and in 2018 the Queen Alia International Airport was awarded the highest level of the Airport Carbon Accreditation Program.
